Something not behaving? Here are the problems players run into most often, and what to try. Most of them take a few seconds to sort out.

I got disconnected mid-game

Your game is safe. Reopen it from your games list and you’ll pick up where you left off — the other players simply see that you’re temporarily away.

I can’t start a game

• A game needs at least 2 players before it can start.
• Start a new game with the same people needs a verified email — check for the reminder banner above your games list.

I can’t hear any sounds

1. Open a game and click Menu at the bottom of the screen.
2. Choose Display settings.
3. Check that Disable all sounds is unticked.
4. If it already is, check your device’s own volume and that the browser tab isn’t muted.

I can’t sign in

• Forgotten your password? Use Forgot your password? on the sign-in page — see How to reset your password.
• Signed up with Google or Facebook and now want a password? Set one from your Account page.
• Check the email address is the one you signed up with — a social sign-in uses whatever address that account has.

The board looks too small, or too big

Both are settings you can change yourself, at any time, without affecting anyone else. Open Menu at the bottom of the screen during a game, then Display settings. Element size has four settings, and just below it you can change how many columns fit on screen. Both apply immediately.
