Signing in on another device
Playing on the laptop and want to carry on from the sofa? You do not have to type your password again. Mexican Train can show a QR code that signs your phone in when you scan it — and there is a second one that jumps straight to the game you are in.
Where to find it
Two places. On your Account page there is a card called Sign in on another device. And inside a game, the Game Scores and Settings panel has Open the Game on Your Phone, which does the same thing but lands on that game rather than your games list.
How to use it
- Open the card on the device you are already signed in on.
- Point your phone’s camera at the code — no app needed; the camera offers you the link.
- Open the link. Your phone is signed in, and you carry on where you left off.
Two things worth knowing
The code is single-use, and it changes. Each one signs in one device, once, and a fresh code replaces it every nine minutes or so. A screenshot of an old code will not work.
Anyone who scans it gets into your account. That is the whole point of it — it is a key, not a game invitation. Only show it to yourself, do not photograph it, and do not paste it into a group chat. To invite somebody to play, use the invite code instead, which is a different thing entirely.
If it will not scan
Older phone cameras sometimes need a QR app. Failing that, sign in on the phone with your email and password as normal — the QR is a shortcut, not the only way in. If you have forgotten the password, reset it first.
